Black Shiplap Fireplace Wall in Baltimore, Ohio
From Bare Framing to a Black Shiplap Fireplace Wall with a Wood Mantel
This Baltimore living room had a blank wall and nowhere for the TV to go. We framed it out, wrapped it in black shiplap, built in an electric fireplace, mounted the TV, and capped it off with a natural wood mantel.

Before
Framing roughed in with a diagonal brace, ready for the fireplace and shiplap.
After
Black shiplap, a built-in electric fireplace, a wood mantel, and the TV mounted above.
A Bold Black Focal Point
This Baltimore living room had a plain wall with no fireplace, no TV spot, and nothing to pull the room together. The homeowners wanted a bold, modern focal point instead of the usual white or gray accent wall.
We framed the wall out from scratch, wrapped it in black shiplap, built in an electric fireplace, mounted the TV above it, and finished it off with a natural wood floating mantel for contrast.

Framing & Black Shiplap
We framed the wall out from the studs, squaring it up with a diagonal brace and building in the depth needed for the fireplace and TV wiring. Black shiplap went on over the framing, panel by panel, for a clean, modern finish.
Fireplace, TV & Mantel
A built-in electric fireplace gives the room warmth and a focal point with no chimney or gas line needed. The TV mounts flush above it, and a natural wood floating mantel breaks up all that black with some warmth and texture.
One Wall, a Whole New Room
A feature wall is one of the biggest visual changes you can make to a living room without a full remodel. Framing, shiplap, a fireplace, and a mantel turn a blank wall into the center of the room, and black shiplap gives it a bolder, more modern look than a standard white accent wall.
